We love this theme because it reinforces the idea that Open is not the end goal. We do open in order to enable something else, whether that is reproducibility of research, reaching broader audiences around the world, or increasing the impact of our work.

Each year, the world celebrates International Open Access Week, which this year will be October 24-30. A theme is used to inspire all of the discussions, and this year's theme is "Open in Action".
